On Sangria

My buddy MDB posted a recipe for Sangria, and it sounds delightful.
I offer my recipe for a gin and tonic.
Start with a glass 3/4 full of ice. The size of the glass (or cup depending on location) is not too important but I do not encourage anything larger than 12 oz. myself as the drink will get warm and the flavour will suffer.
Pour the gin in the glass until half full.
Top off with tonic.
Sqeeze fresh lime juice, deposit lime reminders into glass.
Stir.
Enjoy
Some will brag for a particular brand of gin. I like Beefeater, but that's me. I think Bombay Safire is too much. Paramount is no where near enough. you should stay with call brands but you don't need to go too far.
A vodka tonic is a fine drink when the gin is gone. Vodka is best served with ice in a small glass with a lime (see above for instructions) or an olive. On this I encourage you to try Kettle One.
Absolute is for college girls and mixed drinks. Grey Goose is good but not, in my opinion, worth the cost. Titos I have had with mixers and enjoyed but can not speak to it on its own.
If all else fails, try champagne. The champagne of beers that is.

For the Record

I am not a lazy blogger.
CSH may or may not have had poop in his drive. He sends mixed signals.
Big Jim is staying where he was. In this case no activity seems to be a bold move.
The Younger is great he has two teeth and took a few steps on his own last night.
The Mrs. is doing well. She also walked last night, with Beau Bridges. A little less exciting than the Younger's walk, but I am all for pointing the good out.
I laye don the sofa and watch Fallen. I was bored the whole time, but watch anyway.
Ouw washer is fixed after a month of being broken and three service calls to Sears. The washer was a month old when this started and Sears service was awful. I would not buy any home appliance from Sears again, even if I had to pay more to get it from another place.
Big doings at W 130th and Gaurdian tonight. Come early, stay late.
Peace. I'm out.

This is Odd

At my office we are offered no end of cold, and warm, drinks. With the heat, I like a cold bottle of water, which we have in spades. But as of late I have come across four or five bottles where the "safety" ring comes off with the cap on the first opening. The first couple of times I threw the questionable bottle, contents and all, into the trash.

NOTE: I do not throw away beverages into the trash can at home as I am the one to pull the bag out and then have to clean up the garbage soup that leaks onto the floor much to Beau Bridges' pleasure. At work I do it as a quiet protest against the cleaning people who fail to mop the mens room for weeks at a time leaving the pee drippings to build up on the floor.

I decided the bottles would safe enough and just drink the water now. I have not noticed any side effects other than a spastic collin which is not too enjoyable, but the water, it calls to me to be consumed.
